Well here's a curve ball in the posts I have been making.

I found it funny that the band was named after the guy, and as I remember through the blurred drunk and stoned night, the Girl sang more songs than he did. And what sucks about that is that the girl was annoying and overbearing in the mix at the show. Sorry, Dear. You didn't harmonize well with him (In my opinion of course). But as for the track on the disc on which she sings, I do not mind it. Weird how that works.

So, as i talk shit about this band on the internet you probably think I wouldn't recommend this to you. I do though. Evan has that low raspy voice reminiscent of Blake Schwarzenbach (Jawbreaker) with a fairly good amount of Folk twang in there. If you like folk these are a couple tracks to indulge upon.

Movie Review: Until the Light Takes Us

THIS MOVIE WAS BULLSHIT. I fell asleep through parts of it. I'm a fan of documentaries. I'm a fan of select black metal. I'm not a fan of some film school yuppie making a you tube quality documentary. The cinematography was sad. I made more interesting film projects in high school. Harmony Korine made an appearance and made me realize more that Gummo was his only genius. I ended up knowing all the stories through past conversation with friends. So, obviously the guy who made this film only scratched the surface. The surface that can be found in books and on the internet. Varg was the most intersting telling the story of killing Euronymous in a bit of detail. If i went into this movie blindly what i would have got out of it was that Black Metal in Norway is a huge publicity stunt. I end my rant hear. If you liked the film, fuck off. If you didn't like the film, fuck off. Watch it and make your own decisions.

One of the most despised bands I've ever listened to. Most think it's garbage, I think it's pure genious. Very upbeat power-pop with early euro punk/pop influences such as the Undertones, the Jam and the Clash . Unfortunately all but 1 of the members were lost when they wrecked their van on the way home from a show. They have recently (2006) released a B-sides album that when I find it I will post it.

In my opinion this band is picking up where AFI left off. Remnisant of AFI crica Black Sails and Art of Drowning. The singer may or may not idolize Davey Havok, but who's to say that's wrong when you're making music this good? Their frist album Punch the Clock has a more pop punk feel in my opinion, and the follow up Invasions of the Mind has a much darker matured sound.

I got to have a short drunken conversation with the mind behind the band Matthew Milia in which i found out this is what the guy does for a living. After talk about the present state of the economy I'm sure he was thinking "This kid needs to get away from me.". So, I purchased the CD and bid him farewell on his journey.
